June 25, 2017
Though he has had an impressive career as a practicing psychologist for more than 28 years, Dr. Michael A Civin, Ph.D. realized a lifetime ago that the key to his career was as much education as he could get and he certainly accomplished that. He started by earning an A.B. degree cum laude from Harvard in 1968. He then attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine the next year and followed that up by earning his first Masters of Arts degree in 1970 from the University of Oregon. He earned a second M.A., this time in Clinical Psychology, from Adelphi University’s Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies, in 1988 and he officially became Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. when he earned his doctoral degree from the same institution in 1988.

If that isn’t enough, Adelphi University also awarded him a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in 1993. Dr. Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. has always sought to pursue a full education in psychology and he works from both sides of the educational process, serving at various times as a full professor, associate professor, or even as a faculty member in a number of institutions of higher learning. In addition, many of his scholarly articles have been published in medical journals and as chapters in very important books on psychology.
